Membership Categories
The Chapter covers all of the State of New York area except for the City
of New York and adjacent downstate cities. Its membership is centered in
Rochester, but members come from as far a Fredonia to the West and Syracuse
to the East.
Our bylaws indicate membership categories as follows:
a. Full Member – Chapter member who is
also a member of national HFES
b. Associate Member – Chapter member who is not a member of national
HFES
c. Student Member – Chapter member who is a registered student
We encourage membership in the national Human Factors and Ergonomics
Society (HFES), but it is not a requirement for Chapter membership. We welcome as
Chapter members Human Factors / Ergonomics practitioners, managers,
academicians and students, as well as people in related disciplines and
those who have a general interest in the area. All are welcome at meetings
and events.
Full Member/Associate Member: Individuals can support the Chapter
so that we can continue to bring you programs that will enhance your
technical knowledge and will give you networking opportunities. Specific
membership benefits are:
- Is eligible to become an officer of the Chapter.
- Can attend regular meetings at no charge
- Can attend special events at reduced prices
- Receives email notices of meetings and events
- Has access to Chapter listserve for communicating with others on the
mailing list
- Full and Associate members pay in one
of two ways:
- $15/year and no meeting charge,
or
- alternately $5 per meeting and no
annual fee.
Student
Member: An individual enrolled at least half-time in any curriculum
related to Human Factors and Ergonomics can join as a student member with
the following benefits.
- Is not required to pay an annual fee
- Can attend regular meetings at no charge
- Can attend special events at reduced prices
- Receives email notices of meetings and events
- Has access to Chapter listserve for communicating with others on the
mailing list
