CONSORTIUM TESTIMONIALS
“The consortium provides a safe and energizing
venue to discuss organizational issues associated with the
design and usability function. It also has created a network
that we can tap when we are executing our duties such as
searching for new employees or sharing up-to-date best
practices.”
Nelson Soken, System Strategist, Cardiac
Rhythm Management Division, Medtronic
“It was great to see everyone again. I
certainly came away refreshed and enthused. It is always great
to see and hear what others are doing; it is inspirational.”
(after May 9-10, 2011 meeting)
Clyde Heppner, Director, User Experience
Design, Sprint Nextel |
The PDU Consortium was founded by Carole Bilson (Pitney Bowes) and Stan

companies are represented by the exclusive network of managers in the
consortium. Membership is restricted to those who are responsible for
functions involving Industrial Design, Human Factors and related areas.
Through sharing of experiences and practices, members can learn of new
management techniques to apply in their own organizations and thereby
improve their effectiveness. Likewise, through joint research efforts
members address selected research issues in depth.
nderstanding

This web site is your reference for knowing about other members and keeping
track of consortium business matters. You will find
photos of each member to help you recall individual
backgrounds. Besides the purpose, the
consortium’s structure details
the operating rules decided on by members. A list of potential issues
provides discussion topics in
the same way that a list of potential
research topics provides ideas for the joint research project.
Actual meeting proceedings will be documented with a summary of discussion
results and a list of research projects considered. Books, articles, and web
links comprise a list of references you
can use to update your knowledge base. |
